   This ugreen bluetooth dongle has been a wonderful upgrade for my older laptop. It fixed my bluetooth 4.0 latency issues and my video and audio are now perfectly in sync.

   I manually installed the drivers, and in windows device manager, the dongle reports an lmp version of 14.6. This corresponds to bluetooth 5.4, which is the most recent official standard. The “bluetooth 6.0” marketing label is used to imply it’s next-gen, but there is no official 6.0 standard yet. The barrot br8654a02 chipset runs a genuine, certified 5.4 software stack.

   The listing’s claim of “usb 3.0 speeds” is also just marketing. Bluetooth’s 5.4 max data rate is only 4 mbps. A usb 2.0 port handles 480 mbps, and even a usb 1.1 could handle 12 mbps. Any standard usb-a port on windows 7/8.1/10/11 will work fine.

   This is a true bluetooth 5.4 device that provides excellent performance and is as future-proof as it gets. It’s an excellent upgrade for any older pc and might get software/firmware updates in the future.

    This is great, before it was up to 10MB, now it’s over 200MB.
